How To - Enter An Appeal Result
Using the navigation menu at the top of the screen select "Data Entry" and then select the "Quick Edit PFN" menu item.
This will take you to the Quick Edit PFN screen. You will need to enter the number of the penalty fare notice that you wish to enter an appeal result for. Enter the number into the textbox that is labelled "PFN Number"
When you have load the penalty fare notice in the "Workflow" pane you will be able to enter the results of the appeal.
Use the "Status" dropdown to select the appeal result. You can also add notes against the appeal result for future reference. The final field is the date that the appeal result letter is due to be sent out. This field is required for if the results letter is going to be sent out a different date to the date the appeal results was recorded. After you have entered
the information press the "Process" button to record the appeal result. This will also move the appeal to the next workflow step, which allows you to generate and send the appeal result letter.
To send the appeal result letter press the "Generate Custom Appeal Result Letter" button in the right hand menu.
This will open a pane above the penalty fare notice details allowing you to customise the letter text.
After you have finished amending the letter body to include details about the appeal result press the "Generate" button. This will generate the letter for you and allow you to download it for printing.
After you have printed off the letter press the "Next Step" in the "Workflow" pane to complete the process. Depending on the appeal result the penalty fare will either revert to sending reminder letters or have it status set to closed.
